Celebrity Reader Visit

Today a celebrity reader came and read books for Love of Reading Week.  Her name was Mrs. M.  It was fun.  She was dressed like a pizza man.  She read one book called Stinky Smelly Feet Love Story .  She also read Priscilla and the Pink Planet.  They were good books.  We loved the books.  If you heard the books please tell us.

Opinions and Facts

Do you know about opinions and facts? One clue that you need to know is the word best.  You need to know the clue because good readers know when words are opinions or facts.  Facts are what you can prove.  An opinion is something that you think.  I love learning about facts and opinions because it makes me a good reader.

A True Friend

Do you know what a true friend is?  A true friend is nice to one another.  When someone is picking on you, a true friend would tell them to stop!  If you pick on someone you are not a true friend.  If you do something mean and you are really really sorry they should forgive you.  You can find a true friend by being a true friend.

Plane Shapes and Solid Figures

Learning about plane shapes and solid figures is fun. Plane shapes have less angles than solid figures. I know that plane shapes have different names than solid figures. You can trace a solid figure and you'll get a plane shape. A sphere will roll. A cube won't roll because a cube has eight flat surfaces. If you trace a pyramid, you'll get two shapes triangle, and a square. A rectangular prism has the same angles and flat surfaces as a cube.  I like solid figures because I think they are fun to use.

Learning About Money

Money is my favorite subject in math. Is it yours? I love to learn about money. It does not matter how big the coins are. A dime is worth 10 cents and a nickel is 5 cents. A dime is smaller than a nickel. I like to count money and see how much it's worth. Count the coin that is worth the most first. Go on until you go to the coin that is worth the least amount of money. Different coins have different presidents on them. Coins are shaped like circles. Bills are shaped like rectangles. I like to learn about money because when I grow up I would know if I have enough money to buy something.

Excited About Blogging!

This is going to be fun! We can't wait to write on our blog! We might like writing sentences about things that are important to us. Our blog will help us with writing and spelling. It will help us learn about each other. It will help us learn to read new words. We can practice our typing skills. Our parents can look at all of our writing. We can share our blogs with other classes in our school, too. Let's go blog! :)
